Keys!
I was at work when I got a message from my parents to say they had locked themselves out. No problem, you’d think, but no!
First off I rang the neighbour’s phone number they gave me to find it was a wrong number. So I had to drive round there and (having checked that my parent’s house was still empty!) I then proceded to knock on the neighbour’s doors until I found where my parents were hiding (it took just five houses!).
It turned out their neighbour gave them her daughter’s phone number instead of her own! Doh!
Then I had to drive 20+ miles home to get my spare keys, then drive the 20 miles back to let them in. Once they were safely ensconced I then drove the same 20+ miles back home again.
Lesson learned: keep my parent’s spare keys with me just in case!

I used to keep my parents keys in my car, and my wife used to do the same in hers… the problem comes when you drive your wife’s car… (or in my case, the vehicle that doesn’t have anyone’s keys in….) Good thought though!
